Based on the research evaluation, the school management has decided to change the current research organization at CAS. The new structure assigns primary responsibility for the school’s research and research leadership to the heads of department and is built around five core elements:
- Research Coordinators in the Departments, tasked with supporting the head of department and strengthening scholarly dialogue and development within local research environments.
- Cross-cutting Research Programs at school level, which will be short-term initiatives aimed at launching and developing new interdisciplinary research collaborations.
- Stronger Organizational Anchoring of the School’s Research Centres: Larger externally funded centres will remain independent organizational units, while smaller internal centres will be anchored in the departments.
- A New Research Committee to ensure coherence and integration among all key actors within the research area.
- A Research Collegium to provide more opportunities for peer feedback, shared learning, and exchange of experience among researchers and research environments concerning different types of research applications.
The new research organization will be implemented for a three-year trial period from 1 June 2026 to 31 May 2029, after which it will be evaluated.
