I have studied contemporary history, political science and sociology at Humboldt University Berlin. At the Humboldt University, I have also submitted my PhD thesis 'Big Style Projects - Organisation, Objectivity and Historism in the 19th century', in which I discussed the organization, structure and culture of big research projects at the end of the 19th century. At Aarhus University I will work as a Postdoctoral researcher in the project „The Invention of International Bureaucracy“.

The project investigates norms, structures, employees and strategies of the secretariat of the League of Nations, the first international intergovernmental organization the world has seen. My project will examine the Career Trajectories of British and French Secretariat Employees. I worked as a researcher and editor for H-Soz-Kult, the largest communication and information service for historians in Europe, for the last five years. Currently, I am one of the review editors for the history of science and humanities at H-Soz-Kult. I am father of two boys, age 5 and 3.
