Anne Toft Ramsbøl - New PhD student at the Department of Anthropology

Anne Toft Ramsbøl is enrolled as a PhD student from 1 September and will be working on the project "Family life, autism and adolescence in the 21st Century Danish Welfare State"

My name is Anne Toft Ramsbøl. In my PhD project, ‘Family life, autism and adolescence in the 21st Century Danish Welfare State’, I examine the experiences and everyday lives of families living with autism. I focus on families with adolescents diagnosed with autism look into what it means to come of age in Denmark while living with autism. My project is part of a larger research project, 'ALTER-US', located at VIVE - the Danish Centre for Social Science Research (where I am employed), where we explore family life with cognitive differences and disabilities in Denmark. During my project, I will work phenomenologically, in particular with critical phenomenology - with Cheryl Mattingly as my supervisor.
