As of 1 April, we are happy to welcome Andrew as a member of staff at the Department of Philosophy and History of Ideas, CAS.
Andrew Stephenson is joining the School as a Postdoctoral Fellow in Philosophy on Guido Kreis’s AUFF funded research project “The Impact of Critical Thinking: Reassessing the Kantian Legacy”.
He comes from Humboldt University in Berlin, where he was a Leverhulme Trust Visiting Researcher. Andrew earned his D.Phil. from Merton College, University of Oxford, before taking up a Junior Research Fellowship at The Queen’s College, Oxford, and a Career Development Lectureship at Trinity College, Oxford.
He works primarily on Kant and related topics in contemporary philosophy of mind, epistemology, metaphysics, and logic, and he has side-interests in practical reasoning, Islamic philosophy, and philosophy of religion. His co-edited collection of essays, Kant and the Philosophy of Mind: Perception, Reason, and the Self is forthcoming with Oxford University Press in July 2017.
